Ethereum
The second-largest blockchain after Bitcoin, but built for much more than just payments. Launched in 2015, Ethereum introduced the world to smart contracts. They are self-executing code that powers everything from DeFi to NFTs to entire decentralized applications (DApps).
It’s the backbone of most of Web3. The majority of DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, and DApps are built on Ethereum, making it the go-to chain for innovation, experimentation, and on-chain culture. If Bitcoin is digital gold, Ethereum is programmable money, and the infrastructure layer for a decentralized internet.
